Performance among the Poinsettias

Na Leo Lani had a great time rolling out our holiday show for the public at Kahala Mall on December 8. We were joined on three songs by our Sing With Us for the Holidays guest. Afterwards, a large contingent headed over to The Counter for burgers and fries for our chorus fundraiser. Thank you, ladies, for all you do for Na Leo Lani, and thank you to our supportive audience at the mall.

Come Sing With Us for the Holidays

Take part in Na Leo Lani’s holiday program

Embrace the spirit of the season through song! Join Na Leo Lani for our weekly rehearsals from October 19* through December 18, and sing alongside the chorus as we learn and perform barbershop arrangements of three classic holiday songs. The program culminates in a holiday show on December 18 at Harris Methodist Church.

You will be provided sheet music and learning tracks and will be voice-placed to determine your harmony part. Cost of participation: $20. (Should you decide during the course of the holiday program to join the chorus as a regular member, this fee will be applied to your Sweet Adelines International chapter membership.)

*Note: starting on OCTOBER 19, our rehearsal weeknight will be on Wednesdays , with the exception that on the SECOND WEEK of every month, our rehearsal will be on a THURSDAY. We will meet at the same time: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for members and 6 to 7:30 p.m. for “Sing With Us for the Holidays” participants.

Make merry for the holidays – sing with Na Leo Lani

Christmas cheer

At our last rehearsal before our holiday break, the chorus enjoyed an impromptu performance by the Friends quartet. The pandemic has made it hard for Friends to get together over the past couple of years, so they had a great time hamming it up with “Let It Snow.” (Excerpt below.) Afterwards, the chorus did a few lightning rounds of Christmas favorites, from “Veni Veni” to “Ovah Da Pali.” Warmest wishes to all for a safe and healthy holiday season. We look forward to resuming rehearsals in January.

Happy Holidays 2021 from Na Leo Lani Chorus

Na Leo Lani sends you our very best wishes for a healthy, joyous, and harmonious holiday season with our version of “Silent Night,” with lyrics in English, Japanese, and Hawaiian, reflecting chorus members’ multicultural heritage and our love for the islands we call home.

Join us on December 5 for a holiday concert to benefit the Hawai`i Theatre

Featuring the Sounds of Aloha Chorus & special guest Na Leo Lani!

Mark your calendars for Sunday, December 5, 4:00 p.m. Hawaii time for “Songs of the Season,” a special concert to benefit the Hawai‘i Theatre Center. The pandemic has been hard on all live music venues, and the Hawaii Theatre is no exception. To help this cultural landmark weather the storm and, hopefully, to mark a turning point toward better days ahead, the Sounds of Aloha Chorus has organized a benefit concert featuring all your holiday favorites, sung by the mellifluous male voices of SOA, plus six quartets, small ensembles, and a special guest appearance by Na Leo Lani! As you can can see in the photo from our recording session, the ladies of NLL are overjoyed to be on the risers and singing together in-person again.

Please support the Hawai`i Theatre Center with your $20 per device donation (plus $2 processing charge) to watch the concert premier online on December 5 at 4:00 p.m. HST. 100% of the proceeds will go to the Hawai`i Theatre.
