A Concert full of Christmas Vibes and Holiday Jives

After much hard work and immense amounts of help from family and friends, we put on our first holiday concert in three years! Thank you to all who came and enjoyed the show!

Very special thanks to

Reverend Won-Seok Yuh and Harris United Methodist Church
for so generously allowing us use of their beautiful facility.

Jeff LeFebvre and his team for their much appreciated technical expertise and audio equipment support

Our very generous monetary donors for contributing to this hobby we love so much.
Your contributions go toward rehearsal space rental, director fees, new music, music education, and preparations for our 2024 regional contest.

Our friends and family, who help set up, staff tables, bake delicious things, and pitch in to accomplish the essential tasks that enable us to put on a show!

Whether you support us with your time, your spirit, or your funds, know that our gratitude knows no bounds.

Performance among the Poinsettias

Na Leo Lani had a great time rolling out our holiday show for the public at Kahala Mall on December 8. We were joined on three songs by our Sing With Us for the Holidays guest. Afterwards, a large contingent headed over to The Counter for burgers and fries for our chorus fundraiser. Thank you, ladies, for all you do for Na Leo Lani, and thank you to our supportive audience at the mall.

Guests and members (some dressed up in honor of “National Fast Food Day”)

Our rehearsal last night was graced by the presence of five ! guests, including two visiting Sweet Adelines from Australia — Marg Cox and Justine Cox, both of Southern Cross Region 34 Headliners Chorus in New South Wales. We had a grand time and lots of laughs, including some crazy costumes in honor of Fast Food Day (who knew?!) and an audition by quartet Loco Moco.

Guests are the best!

Tonight’s rehearsal was extra special thanks to the presence of visitors Sandy and Ruthanne from Heart of Michigan Chorus, SAI Region 2. They took time out of their vacation to join us for a full night of song — and they enriched our bari and tenor sections in the process!

Also returning were old hands, SWUFTH participants, and repeat visitors Yoko, Lissi, Allison, and Pamela. Thank you for joining us, ladies! Can’t wait to see you next week.

Harmonizing again

Na Leo Lani has begun rehearsing in person again! For the past several weeks, our singers have been gathering for special weekend rehearsals on the front lanai of Director Christine Wee’s house in preparation for a live recording in support of the Hawai’i Theatre. The recording will be part of a benefit concert organized by the Sounds of Aloha Chorus, and will feature SOA, multiple quartet performances, and a special guest performance by Na Leo Lani. Stay tuned for details about when the benefit concert will be aired and how to watch.

In the meantime, here’s what live rehearsals look like in November in Hawai’i — masked up and in the open air:

Masked but marvelous — baris and basses hard at work.
Leads and basses, mostly off-paper!
