Na Leo Lani enjoyed a busy 2024 holiday season, with performances all around the island, from the windward to the leeward side and places in between. We had a blast entertaining audiences at the Hawai’i Kai Public Library and Pohai Nani, hamming it up with Sounds of Aloha and Honolulu Blend Show Chorus at the Palikū Theatre, and of course, performing at our own Christmas concert at Harris United Methodist Church.
Mahalo nui loa to our Sing with Us for the Holidays “SWUFTH” program participants — we loved singing with you and hope you stick around or come back for our next short-term session! — and many thanks to Harris United Methodist Church for allowing us to sing in your beautiful sanctuary. Thanks as well to Sounds of Aloha — your shows are always a hoot! — and most of all to our members whose heartfelt participation made our holiday season such a joy.
Hau’oli Makahiki Hou, and may 2025 bring peace to the world, one chord at a time.

Birthdays are always a blast with Na Leo Lani. We celebrate monthly with a sash, harmonious wishes, and an opportunity to ham it up in birthday glory.
Enjoy a glimpse below of our fall birthday gals enjoying their moment, plus a pic from our weekly sisterhood of song.

What a whirlwind few weeks it’s been — more than a month has passed already of our Sing With Us for the Holidays (SWUFTH 😉) program! It’s been a joy getting to know our SWUFTH participants and blending with them in marvelous holiday harmony.
Enjoy some snapshots of Weeks 1-4 below, plus a snippet of an impromptu ensemble warming up the chorus with an old favorite.

Hard to believe on this warm & sunny September day, but the holiday season will soon be upon us, and Na Leo Lani is already getting ready with the third year of SWUFTH: Sing With Us for the Holidays! The acronym may be awkward, but the sound is pure harmony.
If you love crooning Christmas carols or find yourself singing along (despite yourself!) with the holiday soundtrack at Longs, this program is for you.
When? Wednesdays October 2 – December 18, 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
Where? Na Leo Lani’s rehearsal space at the Mo’ili’ili Hongwanji, 902 University Ave, Honolulu.

Who? Women / women-identifying singers of all ages, abilities, and interests. Welcome, we can’t wait to meet you!

What a great time we had with our summer concert this afternoon! Our performance marked the culmination of our Amazing Summer Program 2024. In addition to our Hawai’i-themed repertoire, we also premiered our two ASP songs celebrating family, friends, and the indomitable feelings of joy that singing brings.
Mahalo nui loa to University Avenue Baptist Church for allowing us to perform in your beautiful sanctuary, and thanks as always to Mo’ili’ili Hongwanji for our weekly Wednesday evening rehearsal space. And thanks most of all to Yoko, Lark, and Stephanie for joining us this summer. We hope to see you again soon! 🥰🎶
Enjoy the pics and a snippet of each of our ASP songs below.

We’ve been working hard learning new music since June, and now it’s time for Na Leo Lani and our Amazing Summer Program singers to show what we can do. We hope you can join us!
When: Saturday, July 20, 2 p.m.
Where: University Avenue Baptist Church, 2305 University Avenue, Honolulu, HI 96822 (Right next to Mid-Pac school in Mānoa)
Cost: Free! (donations to help support the chorus gladly accepted).
Our performance will celebrate a cappella four part barbershop harmony, island style!

Yesterday’s rehearsal was a cocktail of pineapple and coconut-themed hijinks as we celebrated National Piña Colada Day. (Apparently there really is a day for everything.)
It so happens our fruity festive fun (light on the rum) came just a couple of days after the annual Lānaʻi Pineapple Festival, which began in 1993. The state of Hawaiʻi has lots of pineapple-related celebrations, but few events are as sweet as our weekly rehearsals. If you like singing in juicy four-part harmony, then come check us out! We rehearse weekly on Wednesdays from 6 to 9 PM. You can find location info and others details about Na Leo Lani HERE. Or come to our upcoming ASP (Amazing Summer Program) concert on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 2 p.m. to hear what we learned in just a few short weeks over the summer! We hope to see you there!
