Sweet Adeline Sisterhood

What a tremendous experience it was to return to the Region 12 Convention in Sparks, Nevada, after seven long years! Adjusting to the high elevation and chilly temperatures wasn’t easy, but we were bowled over by the beauty of the snow-capped Sierra Nevada mountains, the cameraderie and supportiveness of our sister choruses, and the sheer joy of singing with so many Sweet Adelines in one place.

As you can tell from the photos (below), we gave it our all and had a blast singing with and watching the other contestants, as well.

Congratulations to all of this year’s contest performers, including the winning quartet, Equilibrium, from Emerald Valley Chorus in Springfield, Oregon!

Log on to the SAI Region 12 website HERE to watch all of the performances via video on demand from now through May 12.

It’s coming soon! This weekend, April 19-20, Na Leo Lani will be joining the rest of the Pacific Shores region choruses in Reno, Nevada, for the 2024 Sweet Adelines International Region 12 competition. Be a part of the excitement by signing on for the livestream of our performance, or watch the recording afterward when it suits your schedule. To see the convention program, go to the Region 12 website, here.

The webcast is an important fundraiser for Region 12, and it’s a whole lotta fun, as well. Support the singer in your life and watch us shine online!

In the swim of things!

This week’s rehearsal theme was “World Aquatic Animal Day” and, true to form, we ladies sang with the allure of Sirens and the harmonic trills of Ariel the mermaid. Mostly, though, we celebrated fish, whales, and other species of the sea as we continued working on our contest set for Reno and our upcoming Friends and Family concert this weekend. ‘Hope to see you all there!

Nothing fishy about vocal fun!

St. Patty’s Day spirit

Irish eyes were smiling this week as we sported many shades of green and welcomed a new tenor, Terry, to the chorus. Our tenor section is growing, and we couldn’t be happier! 🍀

Whether it’s 9 a.m. or 9 p.m., singing always puts us in a “Top o’the morning” mood

Blast from the past

Many of our members have been singing with Na Leo Lani for years. Enjoy this 2006 Honolulu Star Bulletin blast from the past featuring former long-running quartet, the Skylarks, just in time for Valentine’s Day!

Having a holly jolly rehearsal

With Christmas just around the corner and our holiday concert coming up in three weeks, we are ramping up our rehearsals with a lot of holly jolly energy! Enjoy this video clip of an impromptu ensemble at this week’s practice.

Our holiday concert is this Saturday, Dec. 9!

Honoring Veterans

On Armistice Day, November 11 (Veterans Day in the U.S.), Na Leo Lani performed for residents of the Plaza Hawai’i at Punchbowl and celebrated at our evening rehearsal with songs and colors honoring those who have served. Click here for a FB reel of our Plaza pics, and see below for our rehearsal photo.

Many thanks to Suzanne for the group photo!
